They also selected Springfield Armory as Innovator of the Year. I guess if you put "New" JMB designed stuff like the HP and new models of the 1911 you are "Innovating".
Was a time that Colt quality sucked, Smith Sucked at one time too, Winchester blew it in the 60’s, Remington completely imploded then respawned. Point is maybe Taurus finally made a turn to the good. Who knows…..🤣

Who knows, but a bad reputation washes off REALLY slowly. I still won't buy any new S&W revolvers.
I've had a chance to shoot their new 9mm and .22 offerings pretty extensively since they REALLY appeal to new shooters so they come in in disproportionate numbers into the qualification sessions for new CCW trainees.
Two observations, they all kind'a feel "flimsy" for lack of a better word. BUT I have not experienced any significant failures to go bang or function as advertised. No clue about longevity except for their new hi-cap .22 that I've personally shot and seen shooting for effect (training, qualifications and loaner/rental) for a few years now. No issues but sample of one.
My main problem with Taurus is their REALLY bad re-sale value. If you buy a new one and decide to "upgrade" at a later date your gun is basically worthless. So I won't buy any because of that and I tell students if they are considering Taurus please buy used so you won't take a batch on re-sale. I've tried to move some along for students that bough them and the shot my Glocks and other guns and decided to move on. You can't give them away as used guns.
The ONLY new S&W I've purchased in the last 20+ years is one of their Victory 22s I've liked it, so far. Last Taurus I've purchased, was over 20 years ago and I traded it for a S&W 686

They did decide to importing the Croatian VH-2 design and sell it as the Hellion. Is that innovation?
I got a 1911 from them only to discover the rear sight was visibly out of alignment. When I called customer service, I was told it wasn't their problem.
If they were the competition, I would probably pick Taurus as well.

It’s a °IIIII° thing 😎
For their price point I want to love them, but prior performance dies not allow me to
And its also odd that Taurus buys LOTS of full page ads in both G&As and the NRAs magazines.
