It was a quick deer season! Shot this brute this morning at 145 yds…..30-06, 165gr Grand Slam bullets. 

Saw him about an hour after sun up, he was moving pretty slow so I wasn’t in a big hurry. But then he started to trot pretty fast so I got a shot off and think I got some gut. He just stopped and turned his butt towards me and stood for about five minutes. I could see a big blood spot on his side, and was waiting for him to tip over. Finally he made a little turn to the right, and I was able to finish him off. He’s a pretty old buck and the straps will be going to the families for Thanksgiving!
