    I'll go with all the ones Zee listed and add;

Kinda mood and activity dependent.  I can't post YouTube links at the moment.

Metallica has a bunch of great intros. The Four Horsemen, For Whom the Bell Tolls and Master of Puppets rank up there.  But the list could go on.

    Push It - Static-X

Down With the Sickness - Disturbed

Hells Bells and Thunderstruck - AC/DC

Damn near every AC/DC song intro is iconic. But, some notable.

One of the best song beginnings, middle and end.  Arguably the best rendition of one of the best songs ever recorded and it was recorded LIVE!!!!

The whole album is amazing and one of my favorites!

    It’s a °IIIII° thing 😎

I think I have Hell Freezes Over. Need to put that on the USB thingy in the car.
    That's all I got.

While thinking of “favorite song intros,” of course I think of the more iconic ones. At least the ones I like. Thinking of the ones that, almost no matter what’s happening, will get me moving, head nodding.. I might like the song. I might just like the intro…

It got me to thinking of those kinds of songs. And there are two that, while the intro isn’t iconic or even very spectacular, the start of the song gives me goosebumps or even makes the hair on my neck stand up.

Loud and Heavy - Cody Jinks
    https://youtu.be/cd5pORQP1z4

Pretty much starts with vocals. I guess because that song just HITS me. But the intro to that song gets a physical reaction pretty much every time.

    No Words - Cody Jinks

Again, just the intro to that song gets me. Always loved it and loved the song.

A friend of mine from work committed suicide a few years ago. This was one of the songs his daughter chose to play during the video eulogy at his funeral. The intro to that song literally makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up every time I hear it…….

More of a personal thing than the iconic song intros. The intros themselves aren’t even that special.  But as soon as they start, my attention is somewhere else for a bit.

The Stones do have some good intros -

Paint it Black is probably my favorite, followed by Sympathy for the Devil and Gimme Shelter..

Has anyone mentioned a song made after 2000?

Def Leppard's Photograph and Pour Some Sugar On Me are their obvious ones, but this thread dredged Gods of War out of the depths of my brain.  30 years on, and it seems I'm still mourning the loss of Steve Clark's talent.  :'(

If Van Halen's Eruption is the intro to the intro of their cover of the Kinks You Really Got Me, then both have to rate pretty high.

Beatles - Ticket to Ride (another hit on the 12-string Rick crack pipe)

Now, for Zee's condition that only the intro has to be badass. . .most radio stations seem to regard Queen's We Will Rock You - which I like -  as the obligatory intro to We Are The Champions - which I really don't care for. . .almost to the point of wanting to phone in to request that they play the one and specifically NOT the other, JUST to leave those accustomed to hearing the double hanging. :D

Saw him in his goodbye tour in Madison Square Garden.  The whole song was an intro to the moment Phill gets to the drums.  They turned all the lights off before the song started and it was outright eerie, and you couldn’t see anything at all, pitch black, and when Phill broke out with the drums they shined a huge spotlight on him and he was on a platform about 50 feet in the air above that stage.  He almost brought the Garden down!  Wife and I were 3 rows from center state, one of the best concerts I ever attended!

In the days of the cassette tape, I considered some instrumental songs as intro's into the following song.....

Eruption/ You really got me (Van Halen)
    (Anesthesia) – Pulling Teeth/ Whiplash
