I'm not sure how many of you have a best buddy that goes back to when you were kids. I've been blessed with that friendship. My buddy John and I have been hunting and getting into mischief for nearly 50 years. He comes out to the ranch for two weeks every fall and winter to hunt and just plain relax!
He came out this past Monday for two weeks to hunt and pal around. He's been on a custom knives kick the last couple of years. He brought out a half dozen of his latest builds/purchases. These were just unreal.
The last one I opened to look at, he tells me this one is yours. The first words out of my mouth, I can't accepted that. Too bad, it yours! I was blown away and speechless!
The knife is made by Peter Burt Knives. Peter is currently going for his master blade smith certification.
The blade is Stainless steel Damascus (pattern weld) using an experimental technique of his own creation. Using Aeb-L steel which is used to make razor blades and the edge of the knife. The other steel s 304 for strength. It has 100 layers and just looks incredible. The guard is forged, textured and polished silicon bronze. The handle is Black canvas micarta spacer and stabilized black ask burl.
