P.p.t. in sacramento

I'm a 67 year old man in sac. Ca. Trying to buy an cmmg 556. From my 84 year old neighbor.sounds easy , right? Well, it isnt. My neighbor and I went to a little hole in the wall gun store with all the right paperwork and paid our dues, tax, liscence, freight, etc.then waited the 10 day waiting period. Then it gets interesting. The gun shop owner tells me that I might be a criminal or someone is using my idenity, or the gun is stolen?o.k. so thennnnnnnn the gun store man tells me that if I getva live scan that might help?soooooo, i do the live scan and pay another (fine-tax-whatever)  of 55.00 then I wait and wait. Well

So when can you get the gun? Is your identity compromised?

The satanic cmmg is still sittin at the little gun shop waiting for someone at d.o.j. to get off their ass and confirm that I am not a robot, or they're waitin fer that asshole Newsome to pass another assinine gun law. It has been sittin there since 9-22-22 I just got another letter from d.o.j. stating that it's still in progress?w.t.f.?what's in progress? Maybe I'll try sending a letter to santa claus? It tis the season. Merry Christmas to all good gun owners of america.

Have you tried to do some research on your own identity? Check your credit, talk to your bank and get a background check done. You may find out what's going wrong.

One day when purchasing a gun, my background check came back CONDITIONAL. This was while working for uncle sam with a TS/SCI clearance.   To this day I don't know why, but I went to the FBI and was issued a UPIN.  No problems since.

That is NOT uncommon.  Sometimes folks with higher clearances get flagged because more and higher level folks are interested in what they are up to and want to take a look.  My buddy retired as a Full Bird with the highest sec clearances possible (he's still doing secret squirrel work for them).  His CCW took 6 months to be approved while every other Joe Blow I certified was done in 6-10 weeks...

I just wanted to thank all the good people and their posts. I have been dealing with the aftermath of radiation for stage 4 esophageal cancer, so I have been oug of the loop.the good news is;after almost 9 months of tring to buy a cmmg mk 4 from my neighbor ,I just happened to read a thread at Ca. Gjns  and there was a man that sai: only do a p.p.t. at a f.f.l. that realeases a firearm on undetermined status!well I did that and 30 days later I picked my new gal. She is a 556. And she is as pretty as a plastic andvsteel could be.Note to everyone in ca. Tryind to,buy a firearm from a friend;never go to the store called guns and stuff. They will screw you over! Thanks everyone

You are so right! Gun and Stuff is not a good store to conduct firearms business. I tried a couple times to do business with them and walked away. Never again!
