First gun of the year and my first 1911 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys:

I just picked it up this afternoon, its a Kimber Custom TLE 2/RL stainless. This one had all the goodies i was looking for including night sights. It was a bit more than i was looking to spend but i figured i would spend the money and get exactly what i wanted. Anyways, this is an awesome gun and im very happy with it. I have not shot it yet but im planning to do so tommorow. I took it apart and cleanded/lubed it so its ready to go.Im very excited since this is my first 1911 and i think i started off pretty well. What do you guys think????

Here is a photo to avoid the fine:

I have the Pro TLE II and it has the Mepro Lite night sights and I really like them. You're gonna love the sight picture in low light conditions.

Very nice, very nice indeed. But just because you showed us two pics doesn't mean you get $5 back now! :rotflmao::rotflmao::rotflmao:

I bet a 1911 feels odd to a Glockman, or better yet, strange! Oh well, there comes a time in every man's life that he has to bite the bullet and move up in the world,

    Congrats and btw, YOU SUCK!!!

I've had Kimbers and they are excellent pistols. I think you'll also enjoy how well it shoots. Be sure to give us a range report.

Congrats and, oh, by the way, you suck.

I'm a Custom II owner myself and I know for a fact you're goign to loe that gun. They shoot remarkably well and will be boringly reliable with factory ammo. Congrats!
Accuracy: because white space between bullet holes drives me insane.

Good buy! Now you just need some time to get to the range, get more pictures, and give us a full report.

So I took the kimber to the range today and put 100 rnds thru it. There were no malfunctions or hiccups of any kind whatsoever. i was expecting to have a couple of malfunctions during the break in but there were none to report. The gun shoots awesome. the felt recoil is minimal, more like a gentle push and the trigger is very crisp and smooth. It is defanetly more accurate than i am and as you can see in the photos, i was shooting a bit low and to the left. This was entirely my fault mainly because i kept pulling the trigger instead of concentrating on trigger control. Oh well, that just means i need to practice a lot more with it. Which i will happily do. Anyways, here are a couple of the targets from today. I was shooting at 15 yards standing. I am very happy with it and cant wait to shoot it again. My only complaint however is not with the gun itself but with the magazine. The magazine that comes with the gun is not very good. It didnt cause any feeding issues but the follower tilts foward when loading the first round which is annoying. I will be getting some Wilson Combat mags in the near future.

Here is the first 7rnd magazine i shot right out the box at 15yrds.low to the left is my fault :

And here is another target from today:

Very Very nice!!! That is a real beauty!!!

Some others have been happy with the stock Kimber mags, but I haven't cared much for the few that I've used in the past.

Buy some quality Wilson Combat (I  Wilson Combat mags) or Chip McCormick (CMC) mags and you'll find it money well spent.

Great score. Another good magazine is the Tripp Research magazines: http://www.trippresearch.com/store/store_1911.html

I have those and Wilsons for my 9mm 1911 and I'm torn between which ones I like more.

Thanks guys. I really love this gun. There is just something magical about shooting a 1911. LOL. I have defanetly come to apreciate the ergonomics, accuracy, trigger and the balance of the 1911. I am already considering changing the grips and also installing a mainspring housing/magwell. Im leaning towards the VZ gatorbacks or aliens along with the Ed Brown maxiwell. Now im also considering changing my forum name. lmao..

Excellent choice! Great gun and nice shooting too. A minor technicality, you can confirm on the frame, but I think it's a TLE/RL II (not TLE 2/RL). In any case, Wilson Combat 47D 8-rd mags are great mags and well-liked by everyone I know.
