Things get out of hand....fast....

At the outset, let me state...I do not need any more guns...BUT...I took the wife to a dentist appointment in Grand Rapids a couple of weeks ago and took advantage of the opportunity to stop by the LGS. As I was looking to have the stuff on hand to turn my AR pistol into a rifle should the need arise....
So I had them order an A2 stock and complete buffer system...
When we got home, I perused Palmetto for an interesting, non-boring, upper...something longer than the 8.5" upper currently on it.
Boring, boring, boring.....wait! What is this? An 18" upper complete with sights, BCG and charging handle? For how much?....No problem!

The following week, the shop calls that my order has arrived...so I drive down to pick it up....
While I'm waiting for the guy to get my stuff I notice that they have complete uppers for a very attractive price...
Next thing you know...I'm  ordering a new optic and mount...and all the geegaws and doodads I prefer on my rifles...

Did I mention that I don't  need another rifle?

    Cool.

Why couldn’t you order the buttstock, and upper yourself to have them delivered to your abode?

The upper was ordered from Palmetto and delivered to the house....

As far as the stock and buffer, etc...I was just being a good customer after the guys went to the trouble of looking the stuff up and pricing it for me...

Of course, the lower had to be handled as a firearm purchase....

All the rest of the stuff has been ordered and is in transit

Except for a trigger upgrade and a brake/compensator, which I haven't decided on...

Palmetto is the devil. I have two of their drop in triggers and I like them. I haven't had a $200 trigger but the palmetto ones are pretty good for the money, especially when on sale.

Trigger, try a Larue MBT if you’re in the market for a great 2 stage. Best you can get for the money. $89. Tool steel. If you order 3, they’re $79 each. Just order 3 and replace a few triggers that need replacing or keep a spare for future builds.  I’m not affiliated with them in any way. Just like those triggers for a 2 stage. And they’re made in Texas… If you’ve ever used a Rock River NM 2 stage, this is a better trigger and priced better.

I’d like to try one of yours. Next time we meet. I’ve always been a fan of Geissele. But, I’m willing to learn new things.

All of my ARs have Rock River National Match triggers in them...however, I'm willing to try something different...and I've always known LaRue to make a quality product...

There’s nothing wrong with the Rock River trigger. I have a couple. The Larue trigger just feels more solid and the second stage breaks a bit cleaner, IMO. And since the cost of the RR has gone up over the years, I think Larue has the better bang for the buck now.

This.... made the mistake of once ordering a Geissele SSA-E.... a mistake to my wallet that is.     Got three of'em now.   Soooooo good.

To be clear, the LaRue trigger is not a Geissele.  Geissele = $200+ easily. Awesome trigger. But, LaRue=$80…. The LaRue trigger is better than the RR NM 2 stage. The RR trigger costs more than $80 these days. The LaRue trigger is exactly what I described it as. Best bang for the buck. It’s a very nice trigger and priced very well. Solid trigger. If I was ever to build a service rifle, it would be a LaRue trigger and KNS pins.

I actually found a solution for this.  I now work strictly on solid floor areas.  My wife’s vacuum cleaner has a feature where it sends a laser across the floor that shows you where you missed dirt, dust and there’s still crap on the floor.  I bring it in, point it in every direction and in less than 1 minute I can locate anything that launched or rolled off my work surface!!!  That stupid laser really works very well!

So you have a tactical vacuum cleaner?
Be careful about putting an oversized dust bag on it.  I think it's illegal to own an assault vacuum in CA!   😆
    That's all I got.

Hell I don’t “run” a vacuum cleaner.  Just figured out how to use this one for my purposes 😁

I’m not allowed anywhere near ANY household appliances except the fridge and stove.  Turns out that if you suck a glass of spilled milk with an expensive vacuum you’re not allowed to use one ever again.  Besides I’m sure my wife loves that vacuum more than she loves me.

once paired with a other part, like a trigger group that you replaced because you didnt like it, they start to spawn parts. FYI, even though it was the beginning of the build, you wont use the trigger group anyway because you still dont like it...
