I used to before a re-barreled my 1909 Arg. It's basically a 308 with.311 bullets.

My bad! I screwed up the conversation! He meant the 7.65x54r Russian. The Argentine is 7.65x53. Both can nip at the heals of the 308.

Some call the Argentine 7.65x53 others call it 7.65x54.  Same round that's actually a 53.5mm.  I don't think Buford would have omitted the R because he's a bit of a stickler for details like that but If he makes his way back then he'll explain.
