If I'd EVER been able to like shooting a XD, I'd already have one on the way.
I've shot 9mm and 45ACP XDs in the past and there's something about them that just doesn't feel right too me.
Guess it's my familiarity with Glocks. I've never met anyone that really likes both. Seems folks either like Glocks or they like XDs.

I picked out guns to put on a raffle yesterday, that was one of them, first one I have fondled, it had the optics package on it, a Riton I think, fit my mitt pretty well

Not an XD fan personally, but I like what SA is doing with the line overall. 

10mm wise I'm way more interested in the Sig P320 or the FN 510. From a practical perspective, however, I'm better suited staying with 9mm.

My big issue with the original XD was that the trigger reset required full travel forward, and the Glocks I was programmed on did not.  The XDM, as I recall, "fixed" this.

However, given the proliferation of carbines that feed from Glock mags, I'd probably consider that as my pathway to the modern Colt revolver / Winchester levergun combo.
