Sunday was a bit expensive...

To make the story short, last Sunday I had to take the cat to emergency ... she had a difficult time giving birth.
Now, we have 3 new kittens (the 4th didn't survived  :'( ) and I have less money in the bank...

...how much? .. about enough to buy 750 rounds of fmj 9mm

    Sorry about that.
If you forego another range session or two, you could get them spayed.
     🙀
    That's all I got.

We planned to spay her a year ago, but we have some financial difficulties.
Kitty is not mine exactly. She is the youngest in a small shelter were I volunteer (to have something to do, now that I'm retired)
We lost 3 "residents" (2 dogs and one cat) to old age, and that made a hole in our budget

This is her, when she was abandoned

And this is her with me, before she managed to escape with a neighbor cat...#&$*%¿¿

Never had a cat growing up, only dogs.  I remember the first cat I owned by relationship.  She was my fiancé’s cat and she moved in when my fiancé moved in with me.  Cat had a UTI and we took her to the vet.  We lived in a studio apartment in New Orleans where I had my first real job and she was in school full time, so money was tight.  When we went to pick her up vet said the bill was $297!!!!  I turned away and started walking back to the car as I yelled out, “You now own her!!!” 🤣

Needless to say we paid the bill and since then I’ve learned that that one visit would actually be one of the cheapest ones ever.  😭

    It’s a °IIIII° thing 😎

    Ouch!
I raised 5 puppies because I seriously misjudged the deterrent effect that a 6' grapestake fence would have on a determined mutt.
Very generous use of your time. 👍
    That's all I got.

    Really...
About a couple years ago,  we had a Doberman as temporary guest in the shelter.

..well, this full size , competition dog , 80 pounds big ,  found one of our resident cats, Piro, an 8 pound stray in full "Gandalf mode" ...THOU SHALL NOT PASS..

"Dobbie" hid behind me , not daring to deal with the cat

Hee!  Seen that before.  My folks rescued a B&W longhair kitten, who, on entering the house at maybe 3 months old, hissed at their approaching two adult German Shepherds, stopping them in their tracks.  They were all great friends after that, eating snacks off the same plates.

    Awwwww! Cute cat!

Your doberman story reminds me: Our Siamese got involved with an electric fence one time, years ago. It landed on the ground, and tore off up the side of the house, tail about 6 inches in diameter and making a very "chesty" hiss, hass, hiss, hass as it ran. Our GSD looked around the corner to see what all the commotion was about, took one look at this cat flying towards him at warp speed, and got the HELL out of the way! Didn't see the poor cat for 2 days!

I had a small 25 lb spaniel Shepard mix named Libby, she loved to chase cats and they would always oblige her. She never did catch them, but the chase was on. One afternoon she saw a cat three houses down the block on a small hill in the yard. She was shaking as she looked back at me with begging eyes. I slapped my leg and pointed, "Go". She was off like a flash!, the cat just sat there watch her charge, and did nothing about it. Libby got there with some low grows, whimpers and confused looks as she circled the cat. The cat just sat there and looked at her as if to say, "What?" That poor dog turned and walked back to with a dejected look on her face, turning to look at that smug cat occasionally. She sat next to me with a confused look on her face as if to say, "It didn't run! It was supposed to run!"

Another dog cat encounter was had a little twist in the game. I was working in a service station. The owner, Mak, had a GSP, Bobo. On the side of the service station was a huge gravel parking area. In the neighborhood was a beautiful Siamese cat, Mak knew the owner well. At least twice a week that cat would come into the station, hiss at Bobo and the chase was on! Out the door and across the gravel they would dart, the cat always just ahead of Bobo as they reached the wooden fence on the other side. The cat would jump on the fence, the dog would skid into the fence. The cat would just sit there for a moment and laugh at the dog before jumping down the other side. One day while we were sitting in the office, the cat came in and hissed, the chase was on! Across the lot they tore and when they got to the fence the cat miss judged it leap. Bobo didn't was a second in his revenge. Bobo brought the lifeless cat back to Mak and laid it at his feet, his tail doing 10,000 rpm. Mak couldn't scold the dog, this game was going on for years but, his dog did kill the cat. Mak picked up the phone and called the neighbor to explain what happened and was willing to pay for the cat. When the neighbor heard what happened, you could hear the laughter across the room. "It's about time Bobo got that cat! He's been asking for it for years!"

    Bad ol puddy tat!
