From what I’ve read, it shouldn’t be a high volume endeavor as carbon fills up the remainder of the 10mm chamber. Without cleaning, subsequent shooting of 10mm cartridges could be problematic. Much akin to shooting .38Spl in a .357 Mag.

Hummm, maybe I should just get a .40 S&W barrel to play with.

Or download some 10mm?
But the .40 barrel will accommodate a good score on .40 ammo.

Interesting to know for sure.
I sold my last .40 a while back. Glock 23, was never really in love with it. But I still have a good supply of ammo and Lord knows what’s out there is cheap. Might be a good investment.
Ran 2 mags through it this morning it was flawless. Its a beautiful Dan Wesson silverback with lots of features. not a scratch or mark on it. Price is right, private sale no sales tax, no FFL fee, no shipping.
BUT! I don't hunt pigs or need bear defense, or more home security, it’s like stocking up on cat food just because it’s on sale; Wow! look at how much I saved! now if I only had a cat! It’s my belief 1911s were designed for the 45ACP and anything else is a compromise 9mm is shorter less recoil energy, 10mm is longer higher recoil resulting in the timing and mechanics less than optimal. I will pass on this one and look for a 45 in the future.
ARE YOU NUTS!!!! You know what that thing is worth? One of the finest, if not THE finest 10mm handgun out there 😱
