Had to spin up my little sister quickly….

Went down to visit her and she’s never held a gun in her hands before. She decided a Glock 43 was perfect for her hands and needs (it is). I only approved the purchase but tried not to influence the decision. About 2.5 hours at her pace, the smile on her face was precious.
After her fundamentals were solid… Her first 9mm target ever. 3 yards, Kinesthetic alignment, two hands, from High Compressed Ready position, 1-3 shots per repetition using visualization.

She handles recoil like a champ, better than most men I’ve trained. Amazing what someone can do when you don’t tell them something is hard.

Teaching fundamentals with a Glock 44.

She’s a tiny little thing, ain’t she…🥰
Going back in a couple of weeks to give more advanced training. But she’s sleeping better now…

When I train folks it’s usually the guys that resist the most learning anything new or changing what they already do. When I get a guy in the 50-60s that starts a training session telling me he has been shooting for 30 years and only needs a brush up I try to stay open minded until I watch them but it usually means I’m going to need the BFH and lots of time.
I had a guy that I spent an hour with just trying to get him to stop crossing the thumb from his support hand behind the gun. He had the scars to prove he’d bled before so he adapted to it by developing a ridiculously high grip that kept jamming his guns because it looked and functioned an awful lot like limp-wristing when he shot. Actually we started the session with him announcing that every pistol he owned was unrealizable and he would only carry revolvers because of this. I almost went to look for the e-collar we use for dog training and was sick of showing him that his Glock 19 was NOT an unreliable gun when he finally broke and the bulb went off in his head!
Women in general come with clean skates and zero ego. I love training them, you can travel light years in hours. Some men do too. I do well with military guys because they are used to listening and following orders so I can help clean them up quickly. Worked with a few Marines from LeJune that knew they needed more pistol training than what the USMC gives them. They had the carbine skills down so we just worked from those fundamentals and backwards engineered pistol skills to go with them. Worked like a champ!
