Tom Petty Guitar Appreciation
While it's not entirely true to say that since getting the Sirius subscription with my new truck that I set the dial to Tom Petty Radio and broke off the knob, it wouldn't be a stretch. I've been a fan a long time and they go DEEP into his and the Heartbreakers broader field of works.
First heard this live 1986 acoustic performance of Shadow of a Doubt there and was blown away. Not having the visual, I assumed he had Mike Campbell on a 12-string and maybe himself or Howie Epstein plunking in occasional notes on a bass.
Nope. Just Tom by himself burning up a 6-string (Martin?). Cue to about 5:45 and enjoy!
