Unicorn marlin?
Well here is the second of yesterdays finds while me and Elk Creek were doing a shop crawl yesterday.
It's a Marlin model 1894 S chambered in 44-40. Try and find that one in the books.
Doesn't exist in any of my reference books. Andy found a reference online to a special distributor run in 1993 for less than 1000 units that had a special S/N range that started with 4440 and this is one of those.
It had to come home.

As is usually the case, the wind came up gale force just after we arrived so the rest of the time I just banged away at the 100 yard steel.
Tried a new bullet in my Remington 141 35 Rem as well. 210gr Cast flat point with gas check. It shot very well also. Quarter size group on the 25 yard target then gave the steel hell as well.
