    YOU SUCK!

I had nothing to do with this one! Seriously.
Aim higher, or get a bigger gun.

That would be a model 23B, in production from 1923 to 1942. Cabela's has one listed at $800 and it doesn't look as good as yours Mr Hoover.

Thanks!  I’ve been hoping to find a nice one in like 30-30 and I thought that’s what this one was until I looked at the side of the receiver. 😱

Yeah, I immediately put it under my arm and opened google.  Saw how few there are around and then the prices they were asking and out came the credit card. The magazine is worth half of what I paid for the rifle.  😎

That was my initial thought!  This will take up the place on the lineup that a 22 Hornet would have…. But this one can take a deer without much effort.  No idea how I’ll feed it yet 🤣

Unless you get brass and reload for it, you are going to need another credit card to feed it, if you can find some.
But Damn that a NICE find🤩

That’s the plan.  This won’t be a high volume plinker.  100 pieces of brass and probably some hard cast gas checked bullets and I’m done 👍

You kind of inspired me to look in the closet.
    I didn't think I had any.
Funny thing is some are savage ones.

Click bait!! Ya made me do it, so:

Just a quick pic of mine with the Lyman #41 sight. But, it's got a few extra holes! :(
It goes well with the one I have in .22 Hornet!

Anyhow, great find and an awesome price!! Ammo is out there but $$$ if you can find it. Brass is impossible to find, I've been searching! Can be formed from .32-20, but it needs a special forming die AND you MUST anneal the cases otherwise they will wrinkle just when you think you have a perfect case!

One unique thing about the Sporter, the barrel and receiver are machined from one piece of steel!! Must have taken some skillful machine work!

You suck, I love the 25-20, a Savage Sporter is one of the finest platforms for it too.

    Yeah. . .about that. . .

Shooting my ".310 Magnum" Martini Cadet (.32-20 brass necked up to work with a .319" groove diameter barrel) is kinda like crack on grilled parmesan-sourdough toast.  If the buildup of water bottles will support it, it's very hard NOT to shoot 50-100 rounds per session.

I've got one in .22 Hornet (what else).  It's about a 2" - 3" gun.  The trigger is bad and can't be improved according to my LGS.

I think I  have a box of 25-20 in my gun room.  I'll check tomorrow.  I know I had .32-20 and gave them away.  I had a Kimber in 25-20 about 10 years ago.  A nice gun.
Concealed carry is for protection, open carry is for attention.

Kimber had a 25-20?!?!?!?!  I never knew that!  Well if you have some spares I'll be more than happy to buy the form you.  This is a tough gun to feed.  :#

Depends how deep that wallet goes for the initial brass.

It's far worse than the 32-20

32-20 brass is starting to trickle back in.  Maybe 25-20 is in the horizon...
