Price check. Mills Fleet Farm

I went to Da Fleet Farm in Oshgosh Wi., yesterday and could not the believe the LOW prices on guns and ammo. I looked at an LCR and S&W 642, both were priced almost $100 lower than I've seen anywhere. $375 and $345 respectively. The clerk said all the guns and ammo are priced with minimum mark up. So, if you have a Fleet Farm in your area and are looking for a REAL bargain on a new gun, it's the place to go. And the rest of the store is awesome, too!!

We're going to Wis next month and will go to the local store and check this out.
Ain't that something just after I started this reply, I see there are both kinds----I don't think farm and fleet does guns and ammo.

Bummer, it was 5.45X39, don't have one in that flavor.
The two chains were always rumored to have been one half of a split company, each half owned by former partners. This is untrue. Farm and Fleet was founded by two brothers (I forget the first names) named Blain, Hence, Blain's Farm and Fleet. Mills Fleet Farm was founded at the same time by Mills co. also of Wisconsin. The rumors of former partnerships gone sour are probably fueled by the fact that both companies were founded in the same year-1955-and in the same state....but who really knows? Some of the folks also throw in a third company-F and F tire-as a third partner in the deal gone sour, but that is also false.
Edited to add: Ned, Farm and Fleet doesn't sell guns, but they usually do have a pretty decent inventory of ammo and other supplies.
