Met two vietnam vets tonight for dinner..............
They arrived with their wives on a cruise ship this morning and are staying here for 3-4 days. One of the couples, Jerry and Trinka are friends of my sisters and Trinka's parents were close friends of my mom and dad.
Both Jerry and his friend are vietnam vets, both ex US Navy pilots. Jerry flew F4's and Ron flew F8's. Am going to take a couple or three days off to show them around ( along with another couple they are travelling with)
I cleaned up the Work van ( Mitsubishi) put the carpets and seats back in ( dont you love having a dual purpose vehicle) and will pick them up at 10am tomorrow.
Jerry left the Navy and flew commercial for American Airlines before retiring a few years back. He is in the process of helping to build a plane for racing.......I think he mentioned something about Gold cup racing ( The restaurant was noisy at the time).
I am sooooo looking forward to spending time with the six of them, from what I have seen so far they are good folks.......And they are all conservatives/Republicans to boot!!!!
I would have taken some pics tonight but my faithful Fuji Finepix gave up the ghost on saturday and is irrepairable. ( Will try to borrow a camera)
Will try to find out more details of where they were stationed etc.
