It's surprising how often I hear people say that the shotgun is the best home defense weapon because...."you don't have to aim it, just point and shoot." This video explains and shows why that is ridiculous, a bit of shotgun mythbusting, if you will.

You never have to aim a regular 870, they have an auto aiming system built into them.

The tactical craze drives me nuts. Now we have Zombie ammunition and as a marketing strategy it seems to work.

I don't give a hoot about "tactical" but I liked the Remington 870 express for home defense: mag capacity, and shorter barrel. I put on the recoil reducing stock with pistol grip and ammo carrier because I found them helpful.

Can you cut me a little slack, ok, bro?

So that explains why the 870 I just bought shoots so well. I thought I was getting better at shooting.:tooth:

meh I'll stick to my Stoeger Condor O/U nice wood stock. I love that thing. It takes Winchester chokes and patterns really well. It's a great bird gun.

When it comes to defense, the O/U shotgun fares really well the empties are unloaded quickly, and it can be loaded very quickly...

I love My 4 shot capacity 870, and even My Mossberg 500 Persuader w/ pistol grip is OK, it is next to Me as I type this relaxing after shutting down the pumps, it is My constant companion, breaking My own rule about not dragging a long gun around with Me.....

When it comes to home defense, I'd prefer one in the pipe and six in the magazine. No such thing as "too much ammo."

I still prefer to have an empty chamber on a shotgun, safety off, 4 shots is more than enough for most encounters.....
