I thought about shooting my screen after watching that... with my 1911

And for the record my 1911 is a RIA and I can't really complain about it

Hilarious...Especially after watching the Glock video.
I think the goofiness of the video's point out how we tend to make our minds up and view things accordingly.
There is no such thing as the perfect gun or car or boat or house. However, when we have made up our minds on what we like we tend to only focus on the positive aspects of the things we have chosen to like and focus on the negative aspects of things we have chosen to dislike. Realistic or not.

I find it ironic that as much bravado and chest pounding there is behind the metal 1911 in my experience they are more finicky and temperamental than any plastic Glock or XD I have ever known.

I think it's a stupid video, production-wise. Goes to show what you can do with a lack of imagination and a couple of friends.

He's got some good points, I think. The magazine on any auto is the linchpin of performance, but Colt makes fine magazines, and so do others. Some indeed will not shoot hollow points, some of the old , GI guns, but most (if not all) will. This is due to the guns being tuned for hollowpoints, and advances in bullet design to function through 1911s.

A double-stack 1911-ish gun would be like holding a brick. Anyway, the trend now seems to be single stack mags, like the new S&W Shield, the not so new Kahr. Slim is in.

I've owned two RIAs, one was excellent, the other wasn't. And have known lots of others' guns that were smooth and sweet. But you do occasionally get a bad one.

Overall, I was most offended by the poor quality and juvenile, intelligence-insulting point making. It was poor.

Offended? Are you a distant relative of John Browning or something?

As stupid as those videos are, it took some planning and skill to put them together

I can't stand watching his antics. It's not funny, it's spastic. Plus all he can go is whine and complain. So he hates the Glock and he hates the 1911, meh. Makes me wonder if he likes anything other than the sound of his own voice.

He did make a good point about the poor kids in the Phillipines working for RIA. But they do have it better than years ago when the only industry was manufacturing screwdrivers. Talk about lousy pay. And the industry almost went bust. Being a very religious predominantely Catholic country they decided to make the screwdriver tips in the form of a cross instead of the traditional straight tip. Then, after making thousands of handles, they realized they were to short to print "Phillipines Screwdriver Company" on them. Divine inspiration led to the invention of a new fastener and the shortening of the name. It saved the industry.

I would do a video about this interesting historical fact but I have only juvenile cinematic skills and lack any means of other than very poor production values. Besides, I spend the majority of my spare time looking for funny videos on the Net.

Some planning but very little skill. It's sophmoric. Wigs? Come on. I guess if you have that sense of humor, it's fun. For me, it was embarrassing for the video maker.

It would have taken slightly more planning and a lot more skill to make an effective video stressing his point. Videos made to the lowest common deminator don't interest me.

    "Sophomoric," Gene.

As far as not liking the humor, that's all opinion-based. Oddly I chuckle at these videos, but don't like Adam Sandler and Will Ferrell's movies. It's all about personal taste.

Of course it's personal taste. If this video draws a chuckle, then the bar for humor is set pretty low.

I liked it, it is tongue in cheek sarcastic humor.......... very funny..... he presents the points from a comic opposing view.

Vaudeville / slapstick routines were based on this type of humor....
