Surveillance video shows two masked men entering the Palms Internet Cafe around 10 p.m. Friday. The Ocala Star-Banner reports one pointed a gun at customers while the other swung a baseball bat."

Looked like pretty good form with his first few shots also.
I heard on the radio that the cops took his gun and some gun store owner is offering 1/2 price on a new one an trying to get folks to contribute to get it for him for free. hope they talk him into an upgrade to .45 acp.
Sorry, don't want to appear racist but you all have got to see and understand that 80% of violent crimes are committed by blacks and hispanics...

I don't want to appear elitist, but you all have got to see and understand that the majority of violent crime is committed by poor people.

As Goldberg said on the Factor with Bill O the other night the problem needs to be addressed at the root cause, no family units for support for most, they (most) don't have any father figure because 72.5% of all black children are born outta wedlock. He said in the 40s/50s it was 15% and when LBJ started the Great Society Welfare it jumped to 25 % and has gotten worse since.
This was a debate on Mitt addressing the NAACP and not saying what he should have because he would have been labeled a racist, that is, what the real problem is, taking responsibility which begins at home with responsible fathers........................

That kind of statistic, if correct, may be appropriate for some political discussions, but tends to offend without really making a valid point, when talking self-defense.
There is no question that the 'black community' is burdened with some very poor public examples of lawlessness and social dysfunction, but there's nothing to be gained by embarassing an entire race by bringing it up in casual discussions. It is a very serious and sensitive topic that is usually torpedoed by people on both sides that intentionally misunderstand one another, or are too emotionally invested to be objective.

I live in the suburbs, where, as you can infer based on the proportions of populations, the percentage of each type of crime trends statistically much higher towards white offenders than non-whites.
So what does this mean to me? Not a damn thing. If someone is threatening my life or my family's lives, the only thing that matters is stopping the threat.
Nobody is trying to embarrass black people on here, the point is if they the politicians and the black community/leaders would face the problem for what it is (the breakdown of the family unit) we would have a lot less crime and those children would have a much better chance of staying clean and out of gangs if they had more family support and a father figure who stuck around to help raise and provide for them.
We would also have a lot less illegitimate children whose mothers can't afford them or support them on their own and save bundles on welfare payments to boot. Crime rates would drop dramatically, as well.
Dang, what a concept Personal Responsibility.

Nah. It is a front for interactive networked gambling. Gambling in Florida is a no-no, so they get around it by calling it an "Internet Cafe" (around my city they call it the "American Legion Post"). The American Legion one makes a "charitable" donation to the troops (USO, VA, VFW, etc) to prevent being called a "gambling establishment", but they are. Their contributions usually amount to about 1% of their total haul. The ones around here are about 40-60% all profit after cost of business.
Bear in mind that "Violent" crime is any that involves physical touch... simple assault and battery are among them but are hardly very violent. The stat is a bit vague.
Also, those percentages are based on the per-capita result.
Let's say there were 10 murders each in two groups of varied populations:
If group A consists of 1000 people who committed 10 murders, then your percentage is 1%. If group B consists of 100 people who committed 10 murders, your percentage is now 10%; this shows that group be, per capita, is 10-times higher likely to commit murder. Group A would have to murder 100 people to be as "statistically violent" as group B who murdered 10. And a 1000% increase is murder just ain't gonna happen within one group.
