About to complete my HD Shotgun

As some of you may remember, I acquired a Maverick 88 12 gauge pump shotgun with a 28" ribbed barrel awhile back:

I mainly got it because it was a good deal, but in the back of my head I head visions of a switchbarrel HD/general use shotgun.

Well, I just took advantage of a Midway USA sale on an 18.5" Mossberg 500 barrel (will fit my "Maverick"), so very soon I will have my HD/truck gun complete. I don't plan to add a side saddle, heatshield, or any other such things. Perhaps a sling, one of those "Police" forends, and an Aluma-Hyde finish, but that's it.

    Nice stuff. A Sling--definitely. Consider night sights. HD usually happens at nights.

    I am pretty happy with My Mossberg 500 Persuader, it is a good base gun for add ons, drilled & tapped, heat shield, 7 shot magazine, pistol grip.....
    Just needs a sling and better sights, they sell a heat shield with ghost ring sights..... I got it really cheap $ 160 , a customer's wife made him sell it off for the Chillrins sake !!!! :jester:

    To even be considered a serious HD shotgun , ya need at least this much tactical crap mounted on it.
