The feces hit the fan at work this morning/crap everywhere

:fan::fan: Some contarctors in a big truck were trying to put a camera down our sewer line from a man-hole out back and it caused the sewer to blow back into our building in every drain, toilets swirling like a torando, water fountains spewing sewer up the drains, brown yuk all over the toilets urnials..............and man it stinks! Brand new buildings (couple years old). The contractors said they were sorry and just got the contract from DPW (Dept Public Works) on post and were trying to check/clean/camera out the lines.

A cleaning team is supposssed to coming over. Guys are bringing in some bleach so we can clean up a little until the team gets here. Dang, the sink next to the coffee pot spewed too, it will have to be Cloroxed good.

I ain't eating lunch at my cubilcle today:yikes:

I reckon they were blowing instead of sucking. :yikes:

Well, the company hemmed and hawed (one of the bosses), but when a guy here asked for the CORs ( GOVT Contracting Officers Rep) name their tune changed. Now they are sending Serv-Pro out today to sanatize the joint. I think their contract calls for them to check out the infrastructure.

You run a camera through the line to look for cracks, breaks, and blockages. It's done in residential work, too.

They didn't get to the camera yet. They were cleaning the lines first.

That sure makes for a crappy situation. :tooth: On the bright side, not much else could top that, so the rest of the week should be more better. Think I'd just toss that coffee pot and get a new one. Too many nooks and crannies for the 'stuff' to hide out in one without a complete disassembly.

Hmmmmm- - - - -I wonder if they got a spark down there from their equipment? Sewer gas is highly flammable- - - -they even run big Diesel engines on it in some sewage pumping stations. Free fuel!

When I was living aboard ship, about once a month someone would screw up a valve lineup and the result was what we called "the spawning of the brown trout". All the toilets in the head would turn into brown fountains about 3' tall. It usually stopped after depositing about 6" of sewage in the head. Mops and buckets were the only way to return the trout to from whence they came. Good times.
