Give me time. If you check times, I was also posting pics of where were hunting elk...
Patience is not one of your virtues.
Trued Rem. XP-100
McMillan stock I bought used.
Brux 1-9 twist sporter taper
Holland Gen 2 Radial Brake
Wichita bolt stop/bolt release (My favorite. it is flat and the pin is in the rear which allow the bolt to come back further giving one the useable length for extraction of a LA).
Dell Trigger-Under 1 pound
SSK T-SOB base
Weighs 5 pounds as is without rings and scope.
284 Winchester. Throated for the 162-168 VLD's
Eric Wallace built this. Same guy who built:
Also a 284 Win
7mm WSM
Pillars & bedded--Barrel free-floated.
Barrel is 18" not counting the brake.
Has an aluminum plate in the forend to reinforce the forend, and is tapped for the sling swivel stud. Rear stud is on the back side of the stock on the left side. Both are epoxied in by request.
Chambered with the same reamer used in the 284 Win rear grip XP above.
Planned load will be H-4831sc with a 162 A-Max. Fed 210 M primer. First scope on it will be a Leupold VX-3 4.5-14 (30mm tube) with dual CDS turrets and ART MOA Reticle.
Burris Signature Zee Rings.
Pic rail has no slope.
Back to my hunting in the hills heritage. With the A-Max, my effective range is great, even on elk.
Impact velocity stays above 1600 fps out to a grand even at 5000 feet elevation.
Here is my first 284 Win: Trying to split a bullet on angle iron at 660 yards-I was having a good day.
Whether you're into long range hand guns or not, this is just a really cool firearm. It should be a fantastic mountain gun. My ultimate idea of a mountain gun, being I'm more into rifles, was either a Model 7 Rem. in 7-08 Rem. or the one Ruger use to make I think they called it an Ultra Light or something on those lines. They both weighed about 5.5 or 6 pound sans scope and mounts, about like a Daisy Red Rider. Nice for carrying at altitude.

Or could you tell the depth of the flutes changes? Deeper at the back, narrowing toward the muzzle?
