Awe thank you, and just for the record I'm not married in fact just got out of a long relationship. I used to fish, but love going to the range.

Everyone has been so helpful here and I apologize for jumping off here but with finals and all I could barely keep up with my homework, studying, housework, and taking care of 2 puppies. I took Pegasus advice went with a 24" SS heavy barrel, and a RRA lower with a geissele high speed trigger. I haven't received it yet it is still being built, I had them put the Magpul PRS stock on as well. I also bought a 300 blackout and it just arrived today. Seeing how not really sure what is going to happened with this gun ban s**t. If anything that is why I got the blackout figure it would be harder to get the shorter barrels if anything does happen.

Again, I just want to say thank you to everyone who has helped me in making up mind. Pegasus, I would really like to go shooting with you if your going to be out my way.

Glad to be of help. I sure hope you specified a 1:8 or 1:7 twist for the barrel, but since it's a stainless steel model, it's most probably a 1:8 twist, which is perfect. Let us know when it comes time for ammo selection, and pictures are definitely needed here.

I appreciate the sentiment, but I'm not planning to be in NC or the East Coast to shoot anytime soon. However, if you do come out to the Houston area, we can go shoot at 1000 yards.

Yes, it is a 1:7 twist, It is a RRA upper and lower. @ Pegasus I will take you up on that... I fly free so when I get ready to come that way I'll let you know. Again thank you to all. I will post photos when it arrives, I just got the 300 blackout and now the fun part is finding ammo... lol Anyone have any suggestions as where to find it?

Get a NM service rifle and go from there. You can start competing at Butner and the rifle wont be out classed. I was waiting for what you considered "long range". Just FYI, mid range is considered 600 yds. A SR (short range) target is shot at 200 and 300. Look up CMP (www.odcmp.com) matches at Butner, either service rifle or EIC matches.

You just need some real basic stuff to start. A rifle, a ok spotting scope that can see a marker at 600 (doesn't take that much), a real sling, and a little ability.

BTW, no glass on the rifle.
It's boring, and your lack of creativity knows no bounds.
