Sons of Anarchy question, SPOILER for those who didn't see Oct 23 ep

A SPOILER question on the most recent SOA episode (broadcast Oct 23) so please don't read further if you haven't seen that ep.

SPOILER:
At the end, Gemma crashes her SUV with her 2 "grandkids" in the back. 1) Did she crash because she was so stoned that she lost attention or is there another more hidden reason? I think she was just stoned out. Agreed or not?

2) Final scene, we see the crashed SUV, Gemma unconscious and belted into front seat, kid crying, and a jumble in the back seat, kids obviously injured but not known how much, and the camera pans to something visible in the open, bent rear car doorway. What is the object? I couldn't make it out. What was the condition of the kids, etc? as far as we know it.

Thanks. Awesome episode, by the way.

1- I don't think she was stoned, just very tired from the mess of lifestyle she is now living.

2- Not clear not he object, perhaps the toy he had on his hands before, the point IMO of that shot was to show he was bleeding a lot.

Question, was this the season finale, lots of cliffhangers there?

Fabric of some sort, either a stuffed animal or a blanket.

Of note however, was the fact that blood was streaming onto it pretty profusely.

thanks for the clarification. No, not the season finale, but plenty of action for 3 other shows! I love SOA.

It was a tree limb with blood dripping on it....

Kid does not make it, Gemma ends up again in Clay's arms and helps him get back as the club's leader..?

thinking again, bruchi, I disagree that Gemma was simply cashing it in. By herself, maybe, but she really likes those kids, so I doubt she would deliberately harm them. The whole episode we see her toking, and tired as well. I think she just zoned.

Anyway, if the kid dies (apparently badly injured now) Gemma is in a world of hell. As usual.

Tara seemed to be getting tired of the kids anyway.

Don't mean hurting the kids was anything but an accident but that this will distance big time Gemma from Jax, Tara and more fo those "close" to her, this emptyness will be an opening for Clay to get her back in his realm.

Agreed. Clay will do anything he can to drive a wedge into Jax' leadership. It's all for him, nothing else matters.

I like the way the writers have increased the tension of the characters this season. Something's gonna break soon.

I understand that they've committed to one more season after this. So we "know" Clay and Jax and most of the others will survive till the big finish. But there's still plenty of mix in the show available.

If they continue to make wise casting calls like adding Jimmy Smiths to the mix and keep coming up with episodes like that one where Walton Goggins made an "appearance" it is all good!

Gemma's been smoking dope like a chimney plus a fifth every day, yet one joint with Wayne puts her out???

Well, the Oct 30 episode was nearly as intense as the week before. Lots of plot turns, some good action scenes.

The writers have apparently worked hard to add zip to this season, and so far have been pretty successful. Gemma is now a more principal "mover" in the story line. I also think Jimmy Smits will continue to have a major role.

Well Jax turned the tables last night on my prediction but did so in a welcomed way. Jimmy Smith is gonna bring a lot of angst and drama to the table.

I've always liked Jimmy Smits, terrific actor, and it's great seeing him in this show, with a meaty, smart role.

Totally different subject but on the item of supporting actors, Gregory Itzin is amazing. He's the middleage guy who won a supporting Emmy on 24, as the president who's also a scheming cheat. He played this very Nixonian weasel and was stunning. He gets roles all over now, recently I think in Covert Affairs.

Anyway, we've got a really fine season of SOA right now, top acting and writing together.
