Sears .22 pump model 4T

Found one of these at the local G/M in excellent condition, I would almost wager un-fire. Put it on hold while I check it out. Best I can figure is this is a Sears branded Winchester model 270 though the Blue book indicates the Winchester is .22 LR and the barrel markings on the Sears say .22 S,L,LR.:uhm:
Has a very unusual looking, 1/2", maybe 5/8" dia scope on it. Now I have seen some small rimfire scopes in the past but this one is quite comical. Oherwise, Looks like a pretty slick little pump for the money. Anyone have one or know anything about them?

It"s on hold with my name on it till tomorrow, then it will be mine. I had to be sure it was the jewel I believed it to be.

    Don't tell snake.
As to the G/M bargains, well it has been a long dry spell on that one.
I was almost fooled by an 03-a3 priced at 349.99:yikes: then it dawned on me that it was a National Ordnance. Red flag

I was at the GM Germantown, last summer, and they had two "sporterized" .303 Enfields, no scopes. Each was $650!!! Not bad for a $150 rifle on a good day!! Wonder how they figured they add a $500 premium!!

Nice little rifle, there's just something about a pump .22!! See ya got the fire going already, windows are open here, and thought I may have to turn on the A/C!!

Hard to see,but that looks just like an old Weaver scope I used to have.

Not very clear (old camera) but here is a bit closer shot. Only marking are Sears 4x and "made in USA" It would seem probable given it's age that Weaver would be the likely manufacturer.

I have never owned a pump .22 before but have wanted one for years. If it shoots as good as it looks, I will be very happy.

Got it out to the range today and was not dis-appointed, started out at 50 yards and was shooting about 3/4- 1" with CCI mini-mags. Stepped it out to 100 yards and groups barely changed, 1-11/4" at most. And this with the old 5/8" rimfire scope it came with. No malfunctions of any kind. I am very pleased.
