I recently got an Android phone. I've downloaded Tapatalk, the IPSC Shot Timer, and Angry Birds. What else should I check out?

I don't mess with many paid apps, but swift key x gets installed on everything I have.
Another to checkout is an app called Torque. It works with a bluetooth obdii dongle (under 20 bucks on Amazon) which gives you a code reader for your car, also lets you see all sensor readings real time. Cool setup.
Garage buddy has a free version if you don't mind ads, gives you some really cool conversions at your fingertips.
College scoreboard, has all the college football info handy.
Simple Loan Calculator ends up really handy if you ever car or house shop.
Speed Test is free, let's you check your Internet connection. Really handy on a phone with Internet.
Google Voice, way better than the stock voice mail app.
Google Music, let's you upload music to a cloud, and stream it anywhere you have Internet. Free
    Weather Bug, free weather app
Zedge, free ring tones (some are cheesy, but there are some good ones on there)

If your phone has an SD memory card. Here are a few you might wanna grab.

Both are by Infolife LLC and free in the google playstore. If you ever have to do a Factory Reset, these will save you.

APP Backup and Restore. Download and run. It will a create list of all the non-preloaded apps you have on the phone. Select the ones you want to save and it will send the list to your SD/memory card. When you restore the phone, you can send ALL the apps back in one large dump instead of two or three days of searching for them. Google playstore also has a list of what you have grabbed, but this will install them also.

SMS Backup and Restore. Saves your text messages. Make sure that this one has the file on the SD card and not just the internal memory. Sometimes it sends it to the internal first.

Most droids that have SD cards can also save your contacts on the SD card as well. Go to your contacts. Select "menu" and look for one that says "Import/Export". Then Export to SD card or Storage depending on which it says. NEVER TO THE SIM CARD, it's not large enough to hold much. If it asks which contacts to export, select "Phone"

I've seen Google backups and carrier backups fail. This is a nearly foolproof way to saving about 90% of what makes your phone specific to you. All you need to do after this,is worry about the pictures.

If you're like me, you might even use a card reader to backup those lists to a PC file in case the phone is stolen.

Swype, best keyboard out there. Takes a little practice getting used to it but it really speeds typing up.
