Ibex

One of Joel's sons, Oni was fortunate enough to draw a Ibex tag in New Mexico. He decided to use his dad's custom XP-100 in 6.5x47 Lapua.
Made the shot at 500 yards. Shot ended up being 1" from the spine (later autopsy) and the animal went down immediately. They thought they were done, but as you know they were not as he was just shocked. After awhile he got his front feet working and then Oni got excited and missed. When you think the animal is stone dead and end up having a resurrection, it is easy to get excited. They ended getting closer and put a finisher in him at 200 yards.

The Billy scored 94 inches. Not a record, but nice with a SP.
