  Ok, price and availability won out. Ordered the Hornady 240gr XTP bullets. They were on sale at Midway and ended up being roughly $10 cheaper per hundred than the Speer. Not to mention, Midway is still backordered on the Speer. For the deer and hogs, I think I'll be fine. Someday, I'll try the Speer.

  Bigslug, bear in mind that Hornady makes an XTP specifically for the 454casull that has a thicker jacket than their other XTP's to control obturation at the much higher pressures of the casull.
  
  Edited to add that I misspoke. It's the Speer gold dot that has the extra heavy jacket for the casull. My apologies.
