From what I can tell ALG is run by a big shot NY real estate investor with lots of wealthy friends and spent $1M running ads against democrats in 2010. The other group looks like they raised a ton of money (over $7M) to fight a constitutional amendment in Florida in 2010 (amendment 4) on local land use planning.

It's one thing to have tons of outside money sloshing around or elections, but it would be nice to at least have an idea who these people are and who's paying their bills.

So they should not have a voice? Only people who cannot understand how to be successful should be able to have a voice in politics?

I totally agree, Alpha. I wish we knew who all of those 'small donors' to Obama's 2008 campaign were. You know, the ones donating under $250. Election laws don't require the candidates to provide the names of those folks, so I guess we'll just have to take Obama's word for it that they were really legit small donors and not agents of a much larger person/organization.

Be careful what you ask for. You might just get it.

Certainly a well executed propaganda piece.........it would be nice to at least have an idea who these people are and who's paying their bills.
Propaganda? Hah! It's only propaganda when lies are used to convince you that their ideas are the truth. In this case, it's the truth that's being used to promote the truth. I don't give a crap who they are, as long as what they're saying is the truth.

All disclosure is good. The idea behind free speech is that people/organizations should have to face the public consequences of their speech. They shouldn't be allowed to hide behind the mask of shell organizations. Allowing major donors to political parties and lobbyists to remain anonymous is dangerous to our republic. Is it that much to ask that we know who our politicians are truly employed by?

As long as all parties play by those rules, we're in complete agreement.

.......I've given up any hope that we'll ever be able to stop the flow of money, but we at least should have the right to know exactly who is buying who.......
Yeah, but why do you only complain to us when it's a Republican that's doing it? How about making your comments a little more even-handed. During the '08 campaign, there were implications that donations to Obama were coming from middle eastern countries, and from people with made-up names like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck or Dick Hertz...whatever. Don't tell me Ovomit isn't being bought and sold by liberal corporations as well.

Certainly a well executed propaganda piece. Got to give them credit there.

Would be interested to know more about these groups though...

Pardon me alpha, but you are like an evinrude in a septic tank!!!! I can hardly at times read your stuff with out getting sick at my stomach and having to use all kinds of restraints to hold back my full feelings. I will say no more than this - that video is absolutely the truth and exposes all the ugliness of your liberal types agenda and world view. I have nothing against you as a person, but I do despise your politics and world view. I will pass that video on to everyone I know because in a microcosm of time, that was a brilliant piece and embodies the truth of the matter. Thank God someone has said it!!!!! The liberals keep pushing our society toward a hard response and end, and that makes me the most angry about it all.

P.S. you can slap me on my cheek and I will turn the other and you can do it again, but don't do it the third time and expect no response, because we are only human and enough is enough when it is enough.

What I wouldn't give for an election between a true liberal and a true conservative. Unfortunately never going to happen as long as the all mighty dollar rules our political system.
My point is that you call the video propaganda, when it is clearly a truthful summation of what has been going on in this country since the election of Ovomit. He and the rest of the Democrats are the masters of propaganda because they spin and lie on just about everything to maintain their power.

Tell me what politician is a true liberal in your estimation, so that I have some idea of what you're talking about. Today's Democrat party seems to be a mish-mash of liberals, socialists, progressives and communists. Since they all spout the same perverted ideas, I can't tell the difference.

A few that have my respect are:

Russ Feingold, Bill Richardson, Brian Schweitzer, and Howard Dean.
I'll have to look up Schweitzer, because I'm not familiar with that name.

    Governor of Montana
He has an interesting resume...not at all like the loons I'm used to seeing on national TV. Not that I would vote for the guy, but I can see why you respect him.

alpha, having respect for Brian Schweitzer and Howard Dean at the same time seems to be a paradox. Of course I am looking at both of them through totally different glasses than you view things or maybe my absolute dislike for Howard Dean's ways and thinking really run deep.
