  They are not hard to tear down. Buy the spring and replace it.

  Find the part number of the spring that's broken, using the schematic in this manual and call Ruger's customer service (603-865-2442), to see if they have any in stock.

  I'd see about sending the gun to Ruger. It's their Connecticut plant that would handle revolver issues. Not that it's a big deal to replace one broken spring, but if the gun's got enough miles on it to break one, it's possible others are tired as well. Ruger will go through and give the gun what it needs. Going on my prior history with them, you'll be out a few bucks for shipping, and get a functionally new gun in return.
