No. It takes Mini-14-specific mags. The latching mechanism is totally different. ARs use a push-button release that latches in from the side, Minis use a paddle-type that latches in the rear.
There is a way to modify AR mags to fit, but I forgot exactly where to punch out the mag. Some mags a have a pre-stamped knock-out sorta like the dash on your to where you can easily change it to add something.
BTW, Ruger 30 round mags are on the civilian market now. Usually best to use OEM.

I remember the Mini-14 magazines being more solidly constructed compared to M-16 magazines......

Also the followers and feed lips are different, and there's dimensional differences.

Mec-Gar, if memory serves, offered a mag that had mag-release cutouts to fit either a Mini-14 or an AR. Never heard any kind of review on them, as Mec-Gar wasn't necessarily regarded as a 'premium' brand...
