The crooks are circling the wagons

Eric Holder just played what he thinks is his trump card, calling on his boss to cover his butt with the ultimate stonewall- - -executive privelege. He's obviously protecting a direct involvement by Obummer and/or his top aides in setting up the gunrunning. This just might have as much effect on things as Watergate did, but I doubt if Congress will have enough backbone to press the issue. Of course, all the liberal apologists are going to yell "politics", which is to be expected. Maybe enough stink will rub off on Obummer to make him lose the election, and then the crooks can be brought to justice by a more honest administration. Throw all the bums out!

How can Obama claim executive privilege of internal deliberations if he has previously claimed didn’t exist? Is he now saying that he WAS informed about F&F? How can the President exert executive privilege over documents he’s supposedly never seen?

Funny: Obama in 2007 told CNN that Executive Priviledge was not a good reason to with hold information from Congress: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=bpwYh9TD6Nc

The Prez and DOJ are just like a bunch of cats using the same litter box. They try to cover up their own stinking nuggets and end up uncovering a bigger pile in the process. Obama claims no knowledge of the mess, yet he invokes executive privilege; I think he's got the Clinton 'blue dress' syndrome going on. I hope Congress has the guts to push back, and push back hard on this one.

Well, we can hope that there are enough Congresscritters from both parties with sufficient backbone to pass the Contempt of Congress resolution. A border agent is dead and probably several hundred(thousand?) Mexican citizens dead or wounded from this idiotic program. Time for some answers, and way the *^%*^$* *%#* past time for the victims and families to get the justice they deserve for this stinking mess. Those involved in the gun walking scheme are mentally deficient and morally bankrupt.

George W. Bush claimed executive privilege 3 times in 8 years. Clinton claimed it 14 times.

    So what?

What Bush and Clinton did has nothing to do with this issue.

"Deja vu all over again"- - - -does anybody remember what happened 40 years ago, June 17, 1972 to be exact? Executive privelege was attempted to cover that situation up, also! It didn't work then, and Obummer wont get away with it now.

Teach, I saw some of this on several news channels yesterday, and I am totally discussed with Eric Holder, and Odummy. Odummy has misued and abused, every aspect of his Presidency. We all know that, yet there are some that absolutely refuse to believe that.... I said from the beginning that Odummy was involved in someway with the Fast & Furious scheme that went wrong. They should have never never never implicated and executed a hair brain dangerous scheme like this.. The bottom line is that one of our very own border agents was murder.... Something needs to be done and someone needs to be held responsible for Border Patrol agent Brian Terry's death.

... I have also maintained that Odummy needs AG Eric Holder to protect his phonie baloney job too. Now Holder needs Odummy to protect him.

    Yea I remember Teach:

June 17, 1972: Five men, one of whom says he used to work for the CIA, are arrested at 2:30 a.m. trying to bug the offices of the Democratic National Committee at the Watergate hotel and office complex.

June 19, 1972: A GOP security aide is among the Watergate burglars, The Washington Post reports. Former attorney general John Mitchell, head of the Nixon reelection campaign, denies any link to the operation

August 1, 1972: A $25,000 cashier’s check, apparently earmarked for the Nixon campaign, wound up in the bank account of a Watergate burglar, The Washington Post reports.

September 29, 1972: John Mitchell, while serving as attorney general, controlled a secret Republican fund used to finance widespread intelligence-gathering operations against the Democrats, The Post reports.

October 10, 1972: FBI agents establish that the Watergate break-in stems from a massive campaign of political spying and sabotage conducted on behalf of the Nixon reelection effort, The Post reports.

November 11, 1972: Nixon is reelected in one of the largest landslides in American political history, taking more than 60 percent of the vote and crushing the Democratic nominee, Sen. George McGovern of South Dakota

The White House has invoked executive privilege over documents at the center of the stand-off between Attorney General Eric Holder and Rep. Darrell Issa, the Republican chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee investigating the Justice Department's "Fast and Furious" program.

"The President has asserted executive privilege over the relevant post-February 4, 2011, documents," deputy attorney general James Cole wrote Issa this morning.

"We regret that we have arrived at this point, after the many steps we have taken to address the Committee's concerns and to accommodate the Committee's legitimate oversight interests regarding Operation Fast and Furious."

The move comes ahead of an expected committee vote on whether to put Holder in contempt of Congress for refusing to turn over the documents. It is the first time President Obama has asserted executive privilege in a dispute with Congress.

Issa and Republicans on the committee have been seeking as yet undisclosed information on how the Justice Department responded to the unfolding scandal surrounding the Fast and Furious program that allegedly allowed U.S. weapons to cross the border into Mexico in order to track gun runners. One of the weapons was later found to be used in the shooting death of a U.S. border patrol agent.

Holder has said the Department has provided "extraordinary" access to documents and administration officials to answer questions about the incident. The committee says it has not received sufficient information to determine whether officials participated in a cover up

Odummy knows that by invoking executive privileges, that he is admitting that he lied about the knowledge of the program, there by opening himself up to the impeachment process, by lying about it in the first place, he knows that if the current gop house leadership tries to impeach him that he will win re-election in the process

Liberals' Logical Fallacy of the Day: Tu Quoque (On Executive Privileges)
    Pundit Press ^ | 6/20/12 | Aurelius

Posted on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 5:48:23 PM by therightliveswithus

In case you have never heard of a logical fallacy, they are quite simple to understand. As the dictionary defines it, a logical fallacy is "a misconception resulting from incorrect reasoning."

The Left loves to roll them out all the time, as I am certain you are aware. Today, however, with President Obama declaring executive privileges on damning documents concerning Fast and Furious, liberals have relied very heavily on one specific fallacy: tu quoque.

Tu quoque, or "you too," is very simple to understand as well. It's pretty much being a hypocrite; it is when someone does something wrong, then says that no one can correct them because they did it too. So, for example, if a former smoker tells someone to quit smoking because it is unhealthy, the other person will say, "You used to smoke, therefore you have no authority and smoking is healthy."

When it comes to Fast and Furious and executive privileges, the Left attempts to defend the indefensible by arguing tu quoque as much as humanly possible. One extremely common fallacy is displayed below, taken from the Huffington Post

Thoughts on Obama’s Executive Privilege Stunt in the Fast and Furious Investigation – UPDATED

I think the executive privelege thing is just an effort to fog the issue over till after the election. It will likely drag on way past the election, and with the media in his pocket, Obama and his accomplices can minimize the fallout from that much easier than they can explain incriminating documents.

My main hope is that, if Obama is defeated, the Republicans won't let the whole thing drop, like they usually do. It's time to start putting people in jail for this kind of BS, and playing hardball against those who want to nullify the Constitution. Besides, if they do drop it, it pretty much proves that the whole thing was purely political.

Hmmmm. . .A Democratic president brought up in the anti-gun paradise of Chicago Mayor Richard Dailey. . .ATF, largely silent during the Bush administration, carrying on a project that, if successful, would almost certainly result in new gun control measures.

Why on earth would anyone think Obama had ANY prior knowledge of such a thing?:jester:

The executive privilege call is as good as admission of guilt. Congress wants to see some documents. What's the problem? Oh, I see, you're crooks.
