Drone Scouting
Has anybody tried or thought about this for scouting for game? Seems like a big step up from trail cams, and at only around $300 for a drone with a high-def camera, it seems kinda cheap to me.

I am always prepared to use some limited technology to assist in my hunting. Things like a range finder to ensure that the animal is within my self chosen 'kill area', better optics to ensure I can put the animal down as quick as possible, better ballistics to ensure the bullet will hit where I want it to, etc.
But the main principle of 'hunting' the chosen game by using my own two feet to seek the animal out in its natural environment and getting close enough to pit my personal skills against the animals defense mechanisms is what it is all about.
Now, having said that, I wouldnt be averse to using the drone to scope out some of the wildlife at the local beaches in summer ...............
Yeah, I was looking at the specs, and a 150 ft. range won't really get you anything that a set binos can't short of seeing the top of your quarry.
The short range is the ones controlled by a phone app. You can get ones with a RC contoller with a longer range, but it would still be less than 200 yards....
