What safety harness?

What do you guys use?

I've not hunted from a stand in two years, and the last time I did, I had a brush with doom. Not wanting to repeat that.

Moot question for me. I take the fight to the animal rather than hide from it in a tree..........

A good strong rope tied tightly around your neck should work perfectly for you. It's been stopping sudden falls for centuries.

Don't think brand matters. Just get a full harness with the tether between the shoulder blades....

That's what I have. Easy to put on correctly and very comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. Many others, not so much on either count.

    Sold.

When cpj said "pricey" I was thinking more than 89.99-129.99. Surely, my narrow butt is worth at least a Benjamin. :tooth:

It come with inskructions on how to tie yourself to the tree?

Some or most tree stands come with some sort of harness with the stands now days. If you are in the market.

    Thanks guys.

2 things. I'm dismayed to see that the harness included with Summit Stands isn't the SOTP. Wish they would give you the option to include that instead of the gray thing that comes with a stand.

What size should I go with? I wear a 34 waist. The sizes seem to break on 35. 28-35 Medium, 35-46 Large. What do you guys wear? Is it best to get the medium and be a little tight? Chris, you seem to have about the same sized child-berfin hips as me...

Lemme go wash it first. You owe it a kiss.

    I have wide hips.

Any of you guys using a ladderstand. Here's a trick I came up with... weld an old door hinge to eanh foot of the ladder, drill one hole out to take a large spike nail.. when setting up just assemble on ground, drive spike in. ladder will not scoot as you raise it up to tree. also makes a larger base in softer ground. no slip, scoot and makes it easy especially a two man stand when you are by yourself...
