A man wielding a 3-foot (supposedly) sword goes into a Dairy Queen to rob the place.

Clerk disagrees with the man's intentions and tool selection for perpetrating the crime.

Result? Clerk wins.

And if I didn't read the small print on the website, I might not have ever heard of this incident.
Knowledge is essential to living freely and fully; understanding gives knowledge purpose and strength; wisdom is combining the two and applying them appropriately in words and actions.

That is a very brief story, and not exactly packed with useful information.

Rather than speculate on the what-if's and maybe's, I just have to say I have no opinion. Hopefully, it was justified.

If it were me that is how I'd want it to read. The best possible way to give a statement to the police in any situation where you felt the need to use deadly force: Be brief and only give the pertinent facts. Do not embellish aside from expressing your fear of death or great bodily harm. It sucks for us who like to hear all the gritty details when the GG wins.
Came for the fishing, stayed for the guns.
