SAN ANTONIO - A woman is in critical condition after she was stabbed outside her child's school Tuesday morning.

The attack happened around 10:00 a.m. Tuesday outside the Bonham Academy on St. Mary's Street. Teresa Barron, 38, had just dropped off her child at the school when the child's father showed up, and the two got into an argument. The child's father, 38-year-old Roberto Barron allegedly then stabbed the woman several times in the upper body and neck area.

Police say a bystander who happened to be a concealed handgun license holder pulled his weapon and ordered Barron to drop the knife. Barron surrendered and was taken into custody by the bystander and a school district officer.

The woman was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center.

Barron was arrested for aggravated assault, and is in jail on a $150,000 bond.

In a later "update" of the story, the school somehow gets credit for saving the woman, and there is no mention of the armed citizen. :uhm:

SAN ANTONIO - Roberto Barron, 38, is facing an aggravated assault charge after police say he stabbed his wife Teresa Barron outside of Bonham Academy.

The incident took place Tuesday morning on South St. Mary's Street around 10 in the morning.

According to court documents, Teresa Barron filed for divorce from her husband Roberto back on August 22nd. The documents also showed Barron filed for a temporary restraining order. A hearing was scheduled for this Friday, August 31st, but Tuesdays incident changed everything.

Police said Barron stabbed his wife several times after an argument outside the school their daughter attended.

"We are all real saddened about the situation, and we were all very hurt to find out what had happened, " said Mary Hernandez, a Bonham Academy parent.

Hernandez said despite the tragedy, she commends the school for taking action quickly.

"There was no panic, and I'm just very proud of Bonham the way they handled themselves yesterday, and we had the utmost confidence coming back today," said replied.

At last check Teresa Barron was listed in critical condition at San Antonio Military Medical Center.

Court records state the couple has been married since 1994.

That is probably a good thing Luis, might keep the Feds from realizing the CHL holder was breaking federal law.

Guns within a certain distance of a school is a federal crime.
