Well, not exactly. It makes sense that I should just go with the STW on the long action. Heavy barrel or not, I should at least be able to fit a #5 contour in that stock. That makes best use of the stock (since I can't think of another long action cartridge to get. Not to mention, why go with the 7 WSM when it is ALMOST as good as the STW? Just get the STW, no?
The short action stock, well I haven't fully decided. The .338 Federal makes the most use of the various parts I have on hand. Including the brass and bullets. Just haven't decided on the final contour yet.
All this to say, I haven't fully decided. But, I have a direction to lean.
