A new rug
Well this was my project this evening.
He's a little thin to make a rug this early in the year, but my buddy is set on doing it. Not sure how much he weighs. We guesstimate at right around three hundred pounds.

Only the optimists suggest that the future is uncertain. The pessimists have done the math.

LOL. Know the best place to shoot a bear?
10 feet from the truck.
Depends. If you're gonna use say, a .30-06, you'd probably be fine putting him the truck first. But if you were to use a .270 with it's epic over penetration, then it's 10 feet. Other wise you're gonna get some holes in your truck.
The fella kneeling there with the bear will come in at what...220 pounds? Then the bear will probably come in around 260ish, don't you think? Looks a little lean in the hind quarters, though. My guess, if it weighed about a thousand pounds dragging it out, would be 240-260lbs.
Does your buddy need a toupee' that bad? Seems like a shame to cut up a perfectly good bearskin to cover up a bald spot!

Well, ya know ya don't wanna splatter blood n guts all over your pickup bed, so 10 feet's about right.
For sure.
