MOA Corporation is in Sundance, which is just under an hour drive and Mac's Gunworks is about a 25 minute drive from my house.
Ernie, I am intriqued by the MOA and have a question. Is there a difference between one built in Sundance, Wy vs Eaton, Ohio? Prowling G/B and the only MOA is from the latter.
Probably just a chip shot for you guys but for me as a mere mortal, that's impressive.:worthy:

There are some differences in the MOA today versus some of the early ones. All MOA's are stainless now. There have been slight differences through the years-His 20th year this year, but you would need to call and talk to Rich to get a complete low down.

A year in the making. Planning, discussing, making calls..........it all worked out in the end. We both did well as far as getting game. Some descent shots and some close stalks. All was well.

Just about everything beats a southern whitetail! They are LAST on my list of tasty game.
I've eaten sage grazed antelope and I've eaten grass fed antelope. They are both good. The sage is just a little stronger flavor.
Then I should be in hog heaven. I actually like whitetail. However, there are only a few ways I like it cooked. For one, I don't particularly like sausage made with it. I make sausage but usually I just make it with pork trimmings. If a deer is old or strong, then when you make sausage with it, you get old and strong tasting sausage. Wild hog makes decent sausage, especially when mixed with about 30-40 percent Domestic pork.
Mostly I like whitetail battered and fried slow in a covered pan. I also like BBQed Back Strap. I like it a bit on the rare side or to be more exact, where it's still a little juicy. I also love whitetail jerky. But as for Roast and oven cooked, you can have it. To me it smells like an old tire cooking and has strong flavors.

I picked two pairs of those gloves a couple of years ago for about $2 per pair during a closeout sale.
Comfortable work gloves. They typically stay in my vehicle.
I guess they are even blaze orange to boot.

I just saw your post on this hunt and it's one of the most inspiring pieces I've read on here. I really can't wait until Nov. 3rd when my daughter will join me on her first duck hunt. I got drawn for opening day of duck season at the closest WMA in the area (they start about 2 weeks later than the rest of the southern region here) and they have kid-friendly blinds for her to sit in during the hunt. In a few years, she'll be big enough to do big game like your little girl and I plan on taking her back to Nebraska. They just introduced $5 youth deer tags this season and that includes non-resident kids. If that program sticks and I can afford to take her back, I will gladly give up my hunt time to help her get a deer in my old stomping grounds.
I should add that the .243 you painted for me will be perfect for her. You can bet that she will probably be using it when the time comes.
Accuracy: because white space between bullet holes drives me insane.
Once your kids start going hunting with you, it will change your life. It is absolutely awesome! Difficult at times, but more than worth the reward both of you will get out of it.
Since my daughter turned 4, I have only hunted about 3 times without her. When I did, I missed her. She is my hunting partner and my boy is getting there as well.
I worked up some awesome reduced loads for my .243 and the kids. 32gr of H4895 under 85gr Sierra BTHP Gamekings and my kids are dinging steel and targets at 200 yards and beyond. They work great and don't beat the kids up.
Might give something like that a try. There is no question that load will work on game under 250 yards or so. I've been impressed with the Sierra BTHP Gameking in this and other calibers.

Great hunt and excellent report. I missed this year's Wyoming antelope hunt after having successful hunts the last two years there, but your report brings back fond memories. Great photos, fine narrative and excellent shooting!

There's no such thing as having too much ammo, unless you're on fire or trying to swim!

Gun control laws make about as much sense as taking ex-lax to cure a cough.
