The BAR probably deserves a place as the first serious portable automatic rifle, although the near-useless Chauchat was the originator of the concept.
I would NOT put the Glock on the list. Good gun, but just a Browning made of plastic (why didn't any aluminum frames make the list?) . .and HK had a plastic-framed gun first.

Colt 1873? yes, it's very important, but the original Colt Paterson was the one that successfully paved the way not only for that, but for all repeating handguns before the semi-autos were developed.
How about the Henry 1860, virtually the world's 1st. effective (Both commercially and military) repeating rifle? Another one that traced the line for metallic cartridge long guns.
No Mauser 1890 or at least 1898?...sheesh!
Not any mention to any .22 rifle? What about the StG-44, world's first operational military rifle suitable for modern warfare?
Would only kept the AK and the 1911 of the whole list.
1. Hand Cannon, 13th Century
2. Gatling Gun, 1862
3. Colt Peacemaker, 1873
4. Maxim Gun, 1883
5. Colt M1911, 1911
6. M2 Browning, 1933
7. M1 Garane, 1936
8. Uzi, 1848
9. AK-47, 1948
10. Glock 17, 1982
11. XM-21, 2010
Thanks for posting that Bream....as to the content of the list....meh....
