Anyone know more about this product?
It is supposed to be released to the public in 2013.
I watched this twice, and although cool, you still have to be able to dope the wind which is the main issue for distance shooting.

Still very interesting and to be honest it’s the next generation of optical solutions as well as the new digital scopes under development.

Gee whiz, waddya want.......an M1 tank sighting system? :tooth:
At the distances you would take use of such a thing, it might be quicker than counting 40 clicks....
Well if they are going to advertise using the thing out to 1200 yards that thing wont cut it. The stuff that a bullet goes through to get 1200 yards is harder to master than calculus and all that thing is, is a glorified trigger system on a burris eliminator or other such optic. In no way would i trust that gun system to put a bullet on target at 1200 yards. The best calculator is the human mind and a all u need is a peace of paper and a good scope. not a crappy miniature missile system
Recoil is how you know primer ignition is complete.

It is interesting though.

I agree. How many new products have received these same comments and have been thought of as BS to come around and change our world for the better? We are in a period of advancement in technologies that may be unprecedented and greater than all the inventions of the 19th and 20th centuries put together. I mentioned this in another thread last night. Most of the greatest minds in the history of the World are alive today. Research is ongoing like never before and it's exciting to think about. I don't think this system alone is that earth shaking, but it will be or systems similar to it will be common place in ten years time. I look at optics today and even the cheapos are better on average than what we had in the 1960s and with really very minor advances in technology. But nowdays the technology is skyrocketing. So like I said, strap yourselves in for a wild ride.
Most people have no clue what an advance sniper does, how often they train, etc.

As for me, I’ll wait a few years to see how everything shakes out.

M1 has: crosswind sensor, muzzle reference sensor (to realign sight and gun tube after repeated firing or extreme weather changes), GPS/comp. interface to mark and send it's location, LASER rangefinder (spell it correctly), and a few gyros (not the edible kind) that stabilize the gun and record lead-rate.......................ballistic data, once initially entered, like type of round which accounts for charge/projectile weight/ballistic coefficient/trajectory/yaw and pitch of the platform.... automatically induces elevation and deflection. AND when you're yelling ON THE WAY.....you're exhaling.
Buck Rogers wears a muddy NOMAX suit.......:roll2:
Pretty cool and I don't think it's intended use, is to kill "animals".
