Anyone know more about this product?

It is supposed to be released to the public in 2013.
I watched this twice, and although cool, you still have to be able to dope the wind which is the main issue for distance shooting.

Interesting to say the least and your point about the wind will be huge. In addition there are still a lot of variables in long range shooting where I can see this product having issues. If I could ask one question what is the degree or considered the degree of accuracy or accuracy guarantee? Does it mean at 1200 yards that .338 Lapua mag can hit a torso size steel silhouette target? Will it offer a MOA or 3 MOA guarantee?

Still very interesting and to be honest it’s the next generation of optical solutions as well as the new digital scopes under development.
Distance is not an issue, but the wind can make it interesting!

There are a lot of problems with this optic, for example: small objective = bad light gathering, no wind compensation, no adjusting for changing atmospheric condition at long range, mis alingment of rangefinder, more electronics to go bad, batteries, trigger may rely on a pass over typ shot on the target and rifle motion may offset the trajectory. And plus its cheating. Not fair to the animal i nmy mind. the hunter needs no real skill to kill the animal. and an electric trigger sounds kind of unsafe to me

I know I will never realistically be able to afford such an item. But I think it's pretty cool. I don't see it's real use though as I wouldn't think it would be fare in LR match and it seems to take a bit of time to "lock on" to any game in the field. I dunno, let's see what the rest have to say.

At the distances you would take use of such a thing, it might be quicker than counting 40 clicks....

Very true. I also just realized that any game at that distance is less likely to get spooked by your presence and more likely to graze.

Well if they are going to advertise using the thing out to 1200 yards that thing wont cut it. The stuff that a bullet goes through to get 1200 yards is harder to master than calculus and all that thing is, is a glorified trigger system on a burris eliminator or other such optic. In no way would i trust that gun system to put a bullet on target at 1200 yards. The best calculator is the human mind and a all u need is a peace of paper and a good scope. not a crappy miniature missile system

This scope may not be perfect. The good news is advanced eletronic sites are coming to firearms. Just think, in 5 years they could be $79.95, Made in China and contain enough lead to make it deadly to use. Everything has to start somewhere. At least they are trying. Later,

I looked on the web and found this:http://www.elcansportingoptics.com/Usage/sighting.php. Check it out. This must mean digital sites are the future. Just saying. Later,

I sure don't see it as being something that is practical for LR shooting.
    It is interesting though.

I agree. How many new products have received these same comments and have been thought of as BS to come around and change our world for the better? We are in a period of advancement in technologies that may be unprecedented and greater than all the inventions of the 19th and 20th centuries put together. I mentioned this in another thread last night. Most of the greatest minds in the history of the World are alive today. Research is ongoing like never before and it's exciting to think about. I don't think this system alone is that earth shaking, but it will be or systems similar to it will be common place in ten years time. I look at optics today and even the cheapos are better on average than what we had in the 1960s and with really very minor advances in technology. But nowdays the technology is skyrocketing. So like I said, strap yourselves in for a wild ride.

    Agreed.
Most people have no clue what an advance sniper does, how often they train, etc.

This product is much like the SIRI app for iPhones. It’s kind of cool as a concept but really doesn’t live up to the TV hype…yet! It’s really the first generation of artificial intelligence. Someone has to start somewhere. This group is simply building a product i.e. scope/firing system based on concepts and ideas from the shooting community. Like everything we can imagine and build someone has to start somewhere. The key is there will be a lot of smart people/engineers/shooters who will take their basic principles and ideas of this product and quickly identify weaknesses and flaws. The next products will build off this one and so on and so on. A few years down the road will see some really cool products coming out with most of the kinks works out of them that will take much of the guess work out shooting 1000 yards and beyond.

As for me, I’ll wait a few years to see how everything shakes out.

Ok the scope gets your location on GPS. It contacts the Weather Satellite for surface wind condition. It lazer checks range. The scope scans rifle for the caliber and bullet weight. The scope checks planet rotation and dopes itself. You hold the crosshairs on the target and the gun fires when you exhale. If the target is still there it is down for the count. Gotta go Buck Rodgers comes on @ 4:30 :uhm: Later,

Like I jested....it's not too far off from an M1 digital fire control system.

M1 has: crosswind sensor, muzzle reference sensor (to realign sight and gun tube after repeated firing or extreme weather changes), GPS/comp. interface to mark and send it's location, LASER rangefinder (spell it correctly), and a few gyros (not the edible kind) that stabilize the gun and record lead-rate.......................ballistic data, once initially entered, like type of round which accounts for charge/projectile weight/ballistic coefficient/trajectory/yaw and pitch of the platform.... automatically induces elevation and deflection. AND when you're yelling ON THE WAY.....you're exhaling.

Buck Rogers wears a muddy NOMAX suit.......:roll2:

Pretty cool and I don't think it's intended use, is to kill "animals".
