A history question for Shush et al
Shush, if I understood your post on the history of the Palestinians, there never was a sovereign state of Palestine, nor was there an indigenous palestinian people. If that is the case, do you have any insights as to why the territory was labeled Palestine in the various mandates? It seems like that labeling of territory has created the myth of Palestine. Thanks in advance.
We do not view the world as it is, but as we perceive it to be.

I think more than likely it was named after the region the mandate was formed in, carved from the remains of the Ottoman Empire.
I can not find any significance in the name itself.
The whole area was claimed and reclaimed by many empires.
You must remember my slant on history is some what tainted, being dragged up in the greatest of those empires :devil: but I try my best.
Good link:up:

PS
As for the Jews driving the Palestinians out of their homeland in ’48, what of the Hashemites doing that very thing in 1970.
From Wikipedia;
‘September 1970 is known as the Black September in Arab history and sometimes is referred to as the "era of regrettable events."
It was a month when Hashemite King Hussein of Jordan moved to quash the militancy of Palestinian organizations and restore his monarchy's rule over the country.’
That country being Palestine before it was split.:uhm:
