  If I were going to Alaska, I would travel in a modified & improved 4x4 ( Duramax ) diesel p/u truck with a custom made aluminum camper on the back.
  
  I would avoid traveling through Oh Canada, and take along enough suitable firearms & ammo and tools and other supplies.
