Thunder snow

Woke up to a wintry mix with gusty winds. Thunder, lightening, a real storm. After about a 1/2 inch on tree limbs and bushes it switched to a heavy wet snow. Still coming down to beat the band.
Heard some transformers blow but we still have power. But we're prepared for any eventuality. I always think of the wild critters when this happens, It's hard on them.
They're predicting from 6 to 12"s, we'll see.
The Mrs. said she's hoping for at least 8". But I'm not sure if she was talking about the weather or not.
The paper said this is our first Christmas day snow fall since 1926. As long as we keep power, this is not hurting my feelings, we had already planned to shelter in place for some much deserved quality couples time.
I'd love to be camping and get up in the morning to a tracking snow. Maybe next time. They're calling for round two Friday.
