Windows 8, who has used it?

I played with it for the first time on two new machines we got at work. My initial impressions are a very solid meh. I did not like it at all for use on a PC. On a tablet, I think it would be pretty cool. I don't even know if a lot of the software we use like Autocad is supported by 8. I think Windows 7 is Microsoft's best OS so far, and my initial thoughts are that 8 is another Vista in a lot of ways.

I got the 18 year old a computer for Christmas and I had to set it up for her. I don't like that it doesn't have the start menu and a place to easily shut it down, but other than that it seems to be alright.

We bought a new PC about a month ago with Windows 8. I concur with your opinion.

Windows 8 was made for touch screen devices. It sucks other wise.

Just bought a brand new laptop and I paid a little extra to have 7 instead.

    It should have been free.

I have 7 on my home computer. Why would I want 8 on my laptop?

I have 7 on my laptop, and iOS6.2 on my iPad and iPhone5. Why would I want 8?

8 is enough ? the TV show, not the OS :tooth:
