February or March it should be out. Pretty excited. This one is more traditional and a lot more grounded on actual historical events. While researching, I found a news paper account that briefly mentioned approximately 75 Comanche had left the reservations in Oklahoma and North Texas and had gone to raiding isolated ranges and buffalo camps. It mentioned that ranchers and families had come to towns while the Army chased them. That was it. Not another word written. I couldn't find out anything more. So, I made my own story up! "Battle of Fortune Wells".
Hope it will make a few ripples. The first one has garnered 101 5* reviews and after a year, it's still hovering in the top 100 Westerns on Amazon. Hard to believe it spent 6 weeks at #1, but it still manages to sell about 800 copies a month with the price increase.

it covers everything about the Comanche you always wanted to know but were afraid to ask. I thought it was excellent reading and it was a Pulitzer finalist.
lol. You really should check it out. It's a narrative history and very readable. Very well researched. He uses Quanah, one of their most famous chiefs, and son of a kidnapped white woman, as a vehicle for much of the story.
To anyone who is even a mild history buff I highly recommend it. He does a great job with covering the battle at Adobe Wells.

Ah, interesting take. Illustrates why guys like you get published and guys like me, read. Let us know when it comes out and I'll be sure to pick one up.

Looking forward to the second book Dan. Am just about due to reread the first.
My copy sits on the coffee table in the theatre. Those that pick it up and express an interest in borrowing & reading it, get told " Dont be a cheapskate, go buy your own copy cos Authors have to eat too!!"
