Book #2 went to the publisher

February or March it should be out. Pretty excited. This one is more traditional and a lot more grounded on actual historical events. While researching, I found a news paper account that briefly mentioned approximately 75 Comanche had left the reservations in Oklahoma and North Texas and had gone to raiding isolated ranges and buffalo camps. It mentioned that ranchers and families had come to towns while the Army chased them. That was it. Not another word written. I couldn't find out anything more. So, I made my own story up! "Battle of Fortune Wells".

Hope it will make a few ripples. The first one has garnered 101 5* reviews and after a year, it's still hovering in the top 100 Westerns on Amazon. Hard to believe it spent 6 weeks at #1, but it still manages to sell about 800 copies a month with the price increase.
It's a source of great pride for me, that when my name is googled, one finds book titles and not mug shots. Daniel C. Chamberlain

Will be watching closely, to add to the Kindle collection. Between Sam and you, Dan, I have a category set up strictly for "Forum Authors" that needs more entries!

Dan, I wonder if you've heard of a book called Empire of the Summer moon. By S. C, Gwynne?
it covers everything about the Comanche you always wanted to know but were afraid to ask. I thought it was excellent reading and it was a Pulitzer finalist.

Glad to hear it Dan, the first one was one of my favorite westerns. Will definitely pick this one up as soon as it "hits the shelves."

Razor, I've heard of it, but never picked it up. Afraid to! Don't want to know if I lied about them.

lol. You really should check it out. It's a narrative history and very readable. Very well researched. He uses Quanah, one of their most famous chiefs, and son of a kidnapped white woman, as a vehicle for much of the story.
To anyone who is even a mild history buff I highly recommend it. He does a great job with covering the battle at Adobe Wells.

My story takes place after Quannah is already locked up on the reservation. This story uses a new leader - a boyhood friend of Quannah. Very politically incorrect in today's revisionist atmosphere.

#1 is out on tape...but the problem with that is it was recorded by a Brit! Nothing against Brits, but they have this funny accent that makes a tough, rowdy cowboy sound a little gay...not that there's anything wrong with gay....
