IWB or OWB?

For those who have compact 1911 how do you carry your weapon?

I am looking at Milt Sparks VMII or Brigade M-12 or M-5 holsters

Mernickle OWB. I forget the model #, but it is the most comfortable holster I've ever had.

    I don't have a compact 1911.

IWB or OWB depends on the terrain and the situation. Most CCW carriers need both at one time or another.

I have a bunch ~~~~~~Galco, safariland, old faithful, De Santis, Fobus, a NN special, and even a _ _ _bag

If you talking open carry then the same makers work well; but, I go with OWB or traditional belt holster.

My Springfield Ultra Compact V10 lives in a Crossbreed Supertuck style holster. Hands down the best thing I have ever carried a gun with. Just buy your pants a little bit larger than normal, and get a sturdy gun belt. The gun belt isn't as important with the crossbreed style holster, but a sturdy buckle is, and gun belts are made for that.

Check out crossbreeds website, mine came from a custom maker Piere Jordan out of Mozambique....

I've got a couple of boxes full of holsters that I've accumulated over the years. The reason? Not one holster fills every need for me as I "dress around the gun"...some days I carry OWB others it's IWB...be flexible...Semper Gumby...

Anyone have experience with Ross Leather holsters?

I guess my question should have been who makes quality holsters since they all seam to make same style holsters in some form or another.....

I carry my CCO in a High Noon IWB; it wasn't cheap, but I think it was worth it. When I carry a fullsize 1911, it's in a Garrett IWB.

Ross, El Paso, Mernickle, etc. There are a lot of really good Custom leathersmiths. You can't go wrong with any of these IMO.

I found a Mitch Rosen 5JR express for same price as the Ross but it doesn't have sweat shield like Ross does. Now got to decide.....

I carry my Colt Lt.Wt. Ofc. model in a Milt Sparks Executive Companion IWB daily and find it very comfortable. In addition I have his 55BN that I carry cross draw for my Ofc. mdl. in colder weather when I wear a sweat shirt or vest to conceal it. I have found all of his holsters I have purchased to be of high quality along with one of his belts I purchased.
I also have a Summer Special for my Colt Govt. Mdl. that works well for that pistol.
