  I don't know, but, if I had to choose I'd go for the keypad.
  But, it must have a key backup that works easy.
  
  I've lived in a lot of houses and I still do not see how a bedside
  safe fits the decor or furniture of a normal bedroom. A safe in the
  closet bolted down maybe, but, I'd rather have a bigger safe and get out and put
  back in, the gun as necessary for use and to keep the child away from it.
  
  I realize this is a twice or more a day chore and requires a temp location out
  of reach of the child when you are distracted by chores. Trigger locks can also
  supplement safety for short special occasions.
  
  The bigger safe lets you store the jewelry as well if you do not have many guns.

  Gunvault Microsafe is what I use.....four finger pads in the shape of your hand (4 digit code), and comes with a key back-up. $90 @ GM in my area. slim enough to fit in a nightstand drawer and run the anchor cable out the back to lock around a bedpost. Only problem I've had recently was my lack of changing the 9V battery......gotta change the battery like you do with a smoke detector.
